oh this hurts my heart so…
a woman, a mother, was put in prison for trying to give her children a better education:

the lengths people will go through to give their children something better than what they have. and now, to be charged $30K in education costs? seriously??
i am sure in the courtroom it looked like a black vs white thing, but this a case of haves vs havenots with a faulty mindset of “how dare she?”…
i know what she did was “illegal” in much the same way stealing medicine to save a dying child is “illegal”, so i pray her sentence is appealed, conviction overturned or she is pardoned (that would be amazing) and her school district receives funds and reform (what happened to “separate but equal”?) … even middle class schools face book shortages and inadequate supplies…
wouldn’t it be even more amazing if “public” schools were really public and equitably equipped?
